Does rarity increase value? ›

The scarcity principle states that the scarcer something is, the more we tend to value it. This is not only an economic principle, but also a powerful behavioral bias, where our brains create an equivalence between the value of an item and its level of rarity or unavailability.

Monsters. Higher rarity on a monster means it drops more items and is more likely to drop items of high rarity. Additionally, a character can gain more items of higher rarity by increasing the increased item rarity and increased item quantity statistics with their equipment or with certain skill gems.

Modifiers to Player Item Rarity or Item Quantity do not affect items found in Heist chests, though they do affect items dropped from monsters inside Heists. Only Thief's Trinkets and Brooches have an effect on the contents of Heist chests, see Optimal Gear for more info.

Rarity is a statistic applied to items and blocks to signify their value and ease in obtaining. It has no effect on gameplay whatsoever. The official rarity may not necessarily reflect the actual difficult of obtaining the rated item.

The higher the rarity, the better the weapon, and the more difference it'll make. While a Common Striker AR deals 186.3 DPS and the Uncommon variant deals 194.4 DPS, its highest rarity, the Legendary variant, deals 226.8 DPS. Here are all the rarities available in Fortnite in order: Exotic.

Legendary is a higher rarity of item than mythical.

Rarity herself is capable of levitation and a few enchantments, but most of her magic only applies to her job.

Scarabs can drop anywhere. Their drop rates are determined by one of five internal rarity tiers: "Common", "Uncommon", "Rare", "Mythic", and "Extreme".

Each reveal must be earned by completing regular Heist Contracts. Level 68 or higher contracts will always grant a Reveal; lower-level contracts will grant one if their level is no more than three below your character level when you complete the contract.

Rarity refers to the distribution of cards in Magic boosters. Magic has common (C), uncommon (U), rare (R) and mythic rare (M or MR) cards. Basic lands technically have their own rarity (L), but are often marked as common. The latter also applies to special cards (S) and tokens (T).
