Weiss Schwarz Case Ratio / Rarity Distribution - IanTCG (2024)

As a new player or collector, finding out how rare your (signed or stamped) pull is can be very daunting, and in some cases impossible, because rarities have changed many times over the history of Weiss Schwarz. Through this article, we hope you can get a better insight in what the different rarities are in Weiss Schwarz, and also get a grip on how rare certain rarities are. This article may be updated over time to include the ratio’s of newer sets over time, but you should be able to get a rough estimate of a set that is not listed as well by looking at other sets that have released around the same time.

This article will use information also posted on the Weiss Schwarz subreddit, with some updates, which was last updated by Ian a couple months ago.

As always, for the more recent sets you can check out our store! https://www.iantcg.com/products/en-ws/

Card Rarity Basics

The Rarity of a card can be seen on the bottom left of a card, next to the card number.

These are the standard rarities. We will use the Quintessential Quintuplets set as example:

SP = Special, usually signed by the voice actor of the character. In more recent times, these may be stamped instead with sometimes a quote in Japanese. Most likely, this is due to Bushiroad not being able to get the license for the voice actor signatures for the English market / product.

RRR = Triple Rare, has special textured foiling
SR = Super Rare, has a glossy foiling
RR = Double Rare
R = Rare
U = Uncommon
C = Common
CR = Climax Rare
CC = Climax Common

TD = Trial Deck
PR = Promo

Some sets have the following Rarities:

RR+ = Double Rare+
XR = Extra Rare
SSP = Super Special
SEC = Secret Rare

There are also some set specific rarities, such as JJR for Jojo. These generally come with some golden stamp. These will be listed in Distribution in Sets if applicable.

We will use the termFoil as a collection for all rarities with special foiling (Generally SR, RRR, SP, but also SSP, SEC, JJR etc.). This will exclude RR+ and below.

Some sets are reprinted with silver SP writing instead of the original gold. This will be noted under special notes.
