Which MBA has the most billionaires?
Harvard Business School has produced 64 billionaire alumni, the most by far of any graduate business school in the world, according to a new report from Wealth-X.
1. Engineering. Coming in at the top is engineering - which might surprise you, but the scope of engineering is huge and widening all of the time. 22% of the world's top 100 billionaires studied some kind of engineering.
Finance and investments remains the surest way to get ultra-rich. It's the industry with the highest number of billionaires, 372, including hedge fund and private equity tycoons, bankers, venture capitalists and fintech founders.
On the flip side, “the masses are convinced that master's degrees and doctorates are the way to wealth,” Siebold notes. According to Wealth-X, only 22% of today's billionaires have a master's degree; 13% have an MBA and 10% have a Ph. D.; even fewer have a law degree (3%) or a degree in medicine (1%).
1. Harvard University. The University produced 29 billionaires till 2021, of these 17 amassed their fortunes in the finance and investment industry.
Two years later, he transferred to the University of Pennsylvania (UPenn), where he completed studies for a Bachelor of Arts degree in physics and a Bachelor of Science degree in economics from the Wharton School. Although Musk said he earned the degrees in 1995, UPenn maintains it awarded them in 1997.
Jeff Bezos was not born into a wealthy family. His parents were 17 and 18 years old when he was born, and he worked on his maternal grandparents' ranch in Cotulla, Texas, early in his life. He graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University in 1986, with degrees in electrical engineering and computer science.
The owner of the first corporation to efficiently harness and market the power of solar energy could be the first trillionaire. The owner of the first corporation to fully commercialize space travel and or colonization could be the first trillionaire.
Top billionaire industries
However, while finance is the main industry focus among self-made billionaires, the non-profit sector is the most common for the minority with solely inherited fortunes.
Billionaires often possess a fearless entrepreneurial spirit that keeps them engaged in the business world. They thrive on challenges and see setbacks as opportunities to learn and grow. Jeff Bezos's audacity to start Amazon in his garage, despite the risks, showcases this entrepreneurial drive.
Which MBA has the most CEOs?
While Harvard School of Business produces the largest number of graduates who serve as CEOs of Fortune 500 companies, an almost equal number of these CEOs earned an MBA at a virtually unknown school.
Many CEOs earn an MBA, which hones their business acumen while helping build a foundation of management and leadership skills. Notable exceptions to this rule include Bill Gates and Mark Zuckerberg, who famously dropped out of college to pursue their entrepreneurial ambitions.
On average, 34.6% of top CEOs have a master's or doctorate degree and. 22.3% of top CEOs have a Master of Business Administration (MBA), 16.4% of top CEOs studied abroad; and. Only 4.7% of top CEOs worldwide are women.
Yet today, he is the richest MBA on the planet. Michael Bloomberg, who graduated with his Harvard MBA in 1966, boasts a net worth of $59 billion, a fortune that makes the HBS alum the 20th wealthiest person in the world, according to Forbes.
In 2022, banking and finance was the industry to which the highest share of the world's billionaires across all age devoted most of their time. Moreover, one fifth of the billionaires below 50 years devote most of their time to technology.
Counting all degrees, Harvard University comes in first place in terms of the total number of billionaire alumni. The University of Pennsylvania comes in first if only bachelor's degrees are counted, according to the most recent 2022 Forbes report.
At age 13, he was enrolled at the New York Military Academy, a private boarding school, and, in 1964, he enrolled at Fordham University. Two years later, he transferred to the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating in May 1968 with a Bachelor of Science in economics.
Leveraging a meticulous analysis grounded in scientific rigor and advanced statistical methods, we estimate Elon Musk's IQ to be 160±6.
Mark Zuckerberg dropped out of college in 2004 to devote himself to Facebook, which he had founded at Harvard University with four fellow students there—Eduardo Saverin, Andrew McCollum, Dustin Moskovitz, and Chris Hughes.
In addition, he was the president of the Princeton chapter of the Students for the Exploration and Development of Space (SEDS). He had a 4.2 GPA and was elected to Phi Beta Kappa and Tau Beta Pi. Bezos graduated from Princeton in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Engineering (BSE), summa cum laude.
Did Steve Jobs have a degree?
For too long, companies have required college degrees for positions that don't require college-level skills. Steve Jobs was a failure – at least by academic standards. The co-founder of Apple, who revolutionized the way we learn, communicate and connect, dropped out of college after only one semester on campus.
College years
He studied psychology and computer science and belonged to Alpha Epsilon Pi and Kirkland House. In his sophom*ore year, he wrote a program that he called CourseMatch, which allowed users to make class selection decisions based on the choices of other students and help them form study groups.
Leading the race is Tesla and Space X Founder Elon Musk. With a current net worth of US$263 billion and an annual growth rate of 129 per cent, Musk is anticipated to reach US$1.38 trillion in the next two years at age 52.
